Patient Engagement Specialist I

  • Respond to web-based and phone inquiries from individuals with behavioral health concerns.
  • Triage inquiries to ensure appropriate information and resources are provided.
  • Determine immediate course of action for current and potential future care.
  • Coordinate appointments for referrals both within COVE and the community.
  • Develop and maintain referral sources within the community.
  • Educate callers on COVE and community-based programs and interventions for behavioral health.
  • Complete appropriate documentation in accordance with COVE policies and procedures.
  • Participate in staff development and training initiatives.

Education and Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree with minimum of 1 years of experience in a similar role (required).
  • Must be able to pass background and drug screen prior to start date.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Ability to speak effectively. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports. Understanding of Motivational Interviewing techniques, and knowledge of recovery oriented principles of managing behavioral health issues, behavior modification, case management of mental health and addiction.

Physical Requirements:

Regularly required to sit and talk or hear; stand; walk; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects or controls. Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, and lift or move up to 35 pounds. Specific vision requirements required include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Job Type: Full-time (Non-Exempt).

Schedule: - 40-hour week / Normal Business Hours.

Compensation: $16.35 USD per hour.
