HR and Corporate Compliance Specialist

PRIMARY FUNCTION

Responsible for supporting Cove's compliance with government laws and regulations, funder and contract requirements, and internal policies and procedures. Direct support to the Director of Corporate Compliance and HR department in alignment with the strategy of the Vice President of Human Resources, executive leadership, and Cove values.

SCOPE OF WORK

Regulatory Compliance and Policy Oversight

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations, including adherence to best practices.
  • Conduct policy and practice reviews and maintain records of compliance.
  • Assist in internal and external compliance audits, risk assessments, and reporting including requirements related to funders, licensing entities, billing, contractual obligations, and contractor or subcontractor agreements, and client Electronic Health Records (EHR) ; Identify areas for improvement and contribute to crafting solutions to address weaknesses.
  • Support compliance reporting, which may include HRSA, PSLF, and compliance with Deaf and Hard of Hearing policy within the Auxiliary Aids and Service Plan Policy.
  • Conduct monthly staff event reports to ensure continued compliance with background checks, physicals, licenses, certifications, and other requirements.
  • Support investigations of allegations or complaints regarding illegal, fraudulent, or unethical conduct within the organization.

HR and Operational Support

  • Assist the HR department with various functions, including file audits, tracking of team member evaluations, offboarding, HRIS entry, and maintenance of AHCA Clearinghouse rosters.
  • Ensure organizational compliance in employment law as well as in training completion and consistency.
  • Create detailed procedural documentation.
  • Develop and provide training on compliance policies, practices, and reporting systems for New Hire Orientation, annual updates, and as needed.
  • Assist the Director and VP of HR with new and ongoing initiatives and special projects.
  • ยท Maintain confidentiality of employee and Client records in accordance with Cove's Policy and regulatory authority.

Credentialing Administration

  • Manage agency and provider credentialing, including NPI, Medicare, Medicaid, CAQH, OIG/SAMH, NPDB, insurance paneling, and others.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • High School
  • Undergraduate Degree (Preferred)


RELATED EXPERIENCE

  • Two or More Years


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret journals, reports, and documents. Ability to respond to inquiries or complaints. Ability to write and conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to collect and interpret data and establish facts. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions and deal with several concrete variables. Ability to type 45 - 50 wpm. Working knowledge of MS Office (including Word, Excel, Access, Publisher and PowerPoint) and Human Resource Information Systems preferred. Attention to detail, organizational and Multi- Management skills.
