Recovery Support Specialist

PRIMARY FUNCTION

Assist counseling staff in implementing therapy assignments, charting behavioral observations and facilitating recovery support groups by performing the following duties.

SCOPE OF WORK

The duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position.

1. Engage and motivate criminal justice participants in a supportive role both one-on-one and in groups to help them accomplish service plan goals

2. Provide case management and community outreach to monitor participants in an outpatient setting

3. Facilitate Recovery Support and Life Skills groups to criminal justice offenders

4. Transport participants to appointments and pro-social activities

5. Participate in treatment team meetings and work with the team in coordinating pro-social activities for participants

6. Participate in clinical staffing and team meetings.

7. Document participant activities and monthly progress summaries

8. Perform tasks to meet Department of Corrections contractual requirements for the program

9. Provide administrative support as required.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

High School/ Undergraduate Degree Preferred 
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE REQUIREMENTS

Current Valid Florida Drivers License

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS

? Level II Background ? DOC Clearance ? DOT Physical ? DMV Clearance

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports. Ability to speak effectively. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, or schedule form.
