Nurse Supervisor

Primary Function:

As a Lead Residential Nurse with Cove Behavioral Health, your primary responsibility is assessing and monitoring the medical and behavioral health of patients by performing and/or ensuring that members of your team perform the following duties.

Scope of Work:

The duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed.  The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position.

  • Assist with the admission of new patients with focus on assessment of needs, including but not limited to psychiatric, medical including primary care, and Medication Assisted Treatment.
  • Conduct ongoing medical screenings of established patients, to include vitals, screening for co-occurring disorders, communicable diseases, and accurately documenting and reporting patient health information to members of the treatment team.
  • Complete intake and admission documents in an accurate and timely manner
  • Review medical records that support admission and/or request records as needed
  • Attend weekly residential treatment team meetings and other patient consultations as needed.
  • Perform psychiatric screenings and initiate referral to the psychiatric clinic if applicable
  • Conduct ongoing behavioral health screenings of patients and assist with crisis stabilization as needed.
  • After assessment and consultation, refer patients for involuntary hospitalization as needed.
  • Observe and administer patient medication and assist patients with filling and/or obtaining medications through Patient Assistance Programs
  • Perform medical case management and participate as an active member in various treatment teams
  • Manage and schedule physician appointments and schedule external patient medical appointments as needed
  • Ability to follow and maintain DEA, 65D-30, CARF, 42CFR and other contractual requirements.
  • Conduct educational groups on health related topics and arrange for Overdose Prevention, HIV education, testing, and counseling with Health Services team
  • Perform related administrative tasks to include, but not be limited to: entry of patient information into Electronic Health Record (EHR), respond to phone inquiries related to medication prescribing, etc.
  • Accurately implementing and transcribing Provider Orders
  • Participate in after hours and weekend on call rotation
  • Other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • 1-5 employees.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Minimum two years of experience, preferably within the Behavioral Health field. Familiarity with medical terminology, Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interface with medical care teams, various ED's, clinical staff, and patients, Ability to accurately assess and link patients with appropriate behavioral health services, Knowledge of 65D-30 and 42CFR, a plus, Computer proficiency to include Microsoft Office Suite, Familiarity with Electronic Health Records, a plus, Bilingual-Spanish preferred.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree (required).
  • Current/Active RN license (required).
  • 2-4 years relevant experience

Compensation: $80,000 / yr
