Licensed Counselor Supervisor

PRIMARY FUNCTION

Provide clinical supervision of counseling staff and clinical intervention and case management for patients at risk for or diagnosed with chemical dependency by performing the following duties:

SCOPE OF WORK

The duties listed below are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position.

  1. Conduct regular clinical supervision for all counselors, peer support specialists, interns, students and/or any direct care staff within the program.
  2. Provide clinical assistance and guidance; Serve as a resource for counselors regarding program policies and procedures, ensuring that staff are aware of and following current standards of care.
  3. Monitor and assist in training and education of staff members, interns, and students.
  4. Provide clinical expertise and guidance to oversee recommendations and interventions related to patient care.
  5. Conduct patient assessments and evaluations; develop and implement treatment plans for patients.
  6. Assist with court preparation and attend court hearings.
  7. Testify in court hearings regarding patient's progress, compliance, and barriers to treatment and urine drug screening requirements.
  8. Review evaluations and assessments for appropriate recommendation and assist with coordination of placement.
  9. Provide individual, group, and family counseling as necessary.
  10. Review patient charts and complete monthly Quality Improvement chart audits.
  11. Prepare and maintain clinical records.
  12. Participate in clinical case consultations and treatment team meetings.
  13. Make referrals to appropriate resource agencies and provide feedback to those agencies.
  14. Create, maintain, and submit reports as required.
  15. Provide crisis intervention, when needed.
  16. Plan and conduct staff development activities as required.
  17. Perform primary duties of the Coordinator in their absence.

­SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervises staff within Drug Court. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Agency's policies and any applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing and training new employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Masters Degree

CERTIFICATION/LICENSE REQUIREMENTS

CAP preferred

LCSW, LMHC, LMFT

RELATED EXPERIENCE
Two to Four Years

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports. Ability to speak effectively. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions and deal with several variables. Knowledge of 12-step program, behavior modification, case management and addiction.
