Position Overview:

Cove Behavioral Health is seeking a Collections Specialist with a strong background in medical collections to join our team. This role requires a proactive, solution-oriented professional who is committed to recovering outstanding balances while maintaining positive relationships with payers and patients. A "never say no" attitude and problem-solving mindset are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

- Research, resolve, and appeal denied or underpaid claims efficiently.

- Navigate Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial insurance portals to verify claim statuses and submit corrections.

- Ensure compliance with state and federal billing regulations while maximizing reimbursement.

- Work closely with the billing team to identify trends in denials and implement solutions.

- Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of collection activities and payer communications.

Qualifications & Experience:

- 2+ years of medical collections experience in a healthcare setting.

- Strong knowledge of insurance claims processing, Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial payers.

- Proficiency in Trizetto and Methosoft (or similar medical billing software).

- Ability to problem-solve, negotiate, and think critically in challenging collection scenarios.

- Exceptional communication and customer service skills with the ability to work effectively with insurance representatives and internal teams.

- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple accounts.
