Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behavioral Health Evaluator to conduct psychosocial assessments for individuals seeking behavioral health services. This critical role ensures that patients receive clinically appropriate, culturally competent, and trauma-informed care. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong clinical judgment, proficiency in electronic medical records, and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to determine the appropriate level of care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive psychosocial assessments for walk-in patients to determine the appropriate level of care.
  • Gather relevant psychosocial and diagnostic information using available resources to inform clinical evaluations.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure appropriate care planning.
  • Utilize electronic medical records, online collateral resource applications, and telepsychiatry platforms effectively.
  • Provide clear and concise clinical summaries for patients requiring inpatient admission.
  • Maintain knowledge of all legal statuses related to patient care and ensure the completion of required legal documentation.
  • Ensure timely and accurate documentation of assessments, interventions, and communication with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work collaboratively with clinical and administrative staff to coordinate patient care.
  • Exhibit cultural competence by delivering culturally appropriate assessments and disposition planning.
  • Advocate for patients, ensuring their best interests while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Adhere to all departmental policies, state, and federal regulations.
  • Participate in regular staff meetings and ongoing professional development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Professional FL license (LCSW, LMHC, LMFT) preferred; registered intern accepted.
  • Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related field required.
  • Experience in behavioral health assessment, substance use treatment preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of trauma-informed care and culturally competent service delivery.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records and telehealth platforms.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and clinical documentation skills.

Schedule & Work Environment:

  • This position may require some evening availability.
  • Hybrid or on-site work dependent on agency needs.
